What's really going on?

There are days when I wake up and have to ask myself 'what's really going on?" Sex abuse scandals, crooked politicians selling Senate seats and people getting shot in grocery stores. Ridiculous. Is this what I spent 3 yrs of my life fighting to defend? It is because of these animalistic examples of human degeneration that I pour my heart into my work. I enjoy creating fantastic worlds with broken characters that can overcome even the greatest obstacle. Like real life, my heroes aren't promised the fairy tale ending. Some live, some die.

I wrote Armies of the Silver Mage when I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2002-2003. It is a simple story, or so I believe. Naturally I did not do this alone. I constantly sought the advice of others, namely my tent mate, Duwan Cratch and a feisty young Lieutenant, Aimee Jaskot. Without their insight and guidance Armies would not be what it is. There is something of each of them in the characters you read.

Now if I could only find an agent willing to take on traditional fantasy......TBC.

Off we go

Somet things in life are easy to figure out. We wake up, get dressed and go to work. But what happens when work is over? Being recently retired from the US Army I have suddenly found myself in a strange new world where nothing makes sense. You would think that after twenty years I would have been prepared for the vacuum I now inhabit. Sadly, this is not the case.
That being said, I am enjoying new liberties and freedoms that I never imagined. My first novel has been published on Nook and Kindle and I am embarking on a great crusade to bring my work to the rest of the world. Some people write for profit, others for personal gratification. I write to make people happy. Welcome aboard and buckle up. It's going to be a long, strange journey.
